We love it when companies integrate foursquare into their marketing campaigns, especially when they go beyond the first step! The social savvy people over @ Think Jam have done just that by creating online ‘buzz’ about their ‘Swarm Badge’ promotion coinciding with the release of the film Monsters in the UK.

On the 3rd December (release day) from 6pm, fans who are eagerly awaiting the release of Monsters are encouraged to gather in 5 Vue Entertainment cinemas and 5 Cineworld venues around the UK. Using the Foursquare application on their smart phones, fans will need to unlock the coveted Swarm Badge, which can only be unlocked when 50+ Foursquare users check in to a venue simultaneously.
Unlocking the Swarm Badge will unleash a discount to see the film that very evening at Vue Cinemas (7pm) and Cineworld (TBC) in the following participating venues: Vue Birmingham City Star, Vue Bristol Cribs, Vue Cheshire Oaks, Vue Leeds Light, Vue Westfield, Cineworld Birmingham Broad St, Cineworld Cardiff, Cineworld Edinburgh, Cineworld Greenwich (O2) and Cineworld Sheffield. foursquare released a new badge called the Spooky Swarm Badge. Details aren’t clear as to the means of unlocking it, but consensus seems to be in a spot with 50-100 check-ins this Halloween weekend.
We love holiday badges, especially those dealing with swarms!

That’s right. foursquare has finally made badges to represent foursquare Swarms of 500 and 1000 check-ins.
Seeing that it’s commonplace these days to have swarms taking place in airports, concerts, sporting events, etc. it only makes sense foursquare continues to create new badges to represent the gathering of its user base.
How bout Million Man Check-in?
UK Tea Shop ‘Metrodeco Tea Salon’ hosted the 1st successful planned Swarm Party on August 12.
From Metrodeco – ‘During last night’s hour-long event at 7pm, the tea shop more than doubled its takings for the entire day and was mentioned at least 250 times in 24 hours on social networks and blogs.’

The Sears Chef Challenge unlocked the Swarm Badge in Chicago at the Navy Pier yesterday!
